Florian Sczesny [ˈflɔːriən ˈtsɛsni] is an independent singer-songwriter whose songs arrive not to explain what surrounds him, but to make it bearable. Fragile vocals mix with raw acoustic guitar and ethereal textures, somewhere between Sufjan Stevens, Adrianne Lenker and Jason Molina. A sound that trembles between freedom and inertia.

Raised amid constant relocation, he found his anchor at fourteen in singing and playing the guitar. Heavily influenced by the work of John Frusciante, he soon began to explore the depths of his own songwriting, which eventually led him to form his progressive band Lake Cisco, contributing to major-label songwriting, producing music for the indie pop band EMMA6, and pursuing his solo projects. All while finishing his studies in economics and teaching.

After more than 500 concerts across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and China, including the renowned WDR Rockpalast and shows with Freya Ridings, Giant Rooks, Meg Mac and Petal, the pandemic and the Ahr valley flood brought his path to a halt. He traded the uncertainty of the music business for solid ground and built his own event agency. But writing songs never left him and his catalogue quietly expanded.

In 2024 he finally regained the strength to start recording and producing all the songs that kept emerging, leading to his full-length album “Songs To Record Before I Die”, a collection of intimate folk songs exploring themes such as dementia, divorce, loneliness and the burdens of adulthood.

To Sczesny, his songs are documents of his deepest inner processes, some pieces to be deciphered even by himself, some to be flushed out of his system as pure catharsis.Recently he established a steady practice of producing and meticulously archiving every piece for his own memoir, and for anyone willing to step into his world.

His upcoming record FURTHER is a testament to resilience, letting the listener witness the loss of existential purpose and the beginning of accepting constant change:

The deeply personal album will be released around March 2027, with its first single “Packing It Up” coming out on the 31st of October 2026.
